A
s an educator of young children, the children are respected, valued and nurtured as individuals.

Children will learn through play in a safe, secure, nurturing, child-centered environment. This environment will be full of stimulating and developmentally appropriate activities that will promote their intellectual, emotional, social and physical development. The development of the whole child is very important in our exceptionally high quality Child Care Center.

Play is children's work. They will learn many necessary skills and techniques that will be used in life. They will learn about the complicated world we live in and how to communicate successfully.

A young child move from solitary play, to parallel play, to associate play, to cooperative play and then finally develops the skills for group play. This process is accomplished with the many play centers at preschool. These include science, water and sand play, housekeeping, music, group times, art, puzzles, and outdoor equipment for large motor development. Self-directed play is another goal for the children.

The preschool program is balanced in quiet/active; individual/group; and free/planned activities with listening and conversing as an important aspect. There will be seasonal and multicultural themes as well as colors, birds, animals, dinosaurs, seashore and many more. The program is designed to meet the developmental needs of preschool aged children.

The children will be encouraged to develop at there own pace, feeling confident and doing their individual best in all they do. They will develop self-control, self-confidence and self-discipline skills. They will also develop their short and long-term memory, creative thinking skills, the ability to follow instructions and problem solving skills. In addition, they will become comfortable expressing their own needs.

I want the children to enter Kindergarten feeling self-confident, curious, happy, optimistic and friendly. I believe these are qualities that will enable them to learn. In caring for our children, we are caring for our future. I believe that it takes a community to raise a child.

Parents are encouraged to participate and visit the preschool.

Respectfully,
Heather Peeters
